It was another "close but no cigar" night for the Angelina College Roadrunners, who traveled to Baytown Wednesday night to take on Lee College and fell 69-63 to the Rebels in overtime.
After a slow start saw the Roadrunners fall behind 17-3, AC gradually climbed back into contention, with Frank Snow sending the game into extra frame with a pair of free throws with four seconds to play.
But the Rebels forced several key turnovers in those last five minutes to take the six-point win.
AC will close out the regular season Saturday at home against Lon Morris College as the second game of a scheduled doubleheader. The Lady Roadrunners tip off at 4 p.m., with the ‘Runners starting at 6 p.m.
In addition, Saturday will feature Sophomore Day for several members of the women's and men's basketball teams and the AC Cheer Squad.
Live audio/video streaming of Saturday's games will be available by logging on to www.angelina.edu and clicking on the Athletics link.
