Roadrunners basketball falls in overtime in Baytown

AC News Service

It was another "close but no cigar" night for the Angelina College Roadrunners, who traveled to Baytown Wednesday night to take on Lee College and fell 69-63 to the Rebels in overtime.

After a slow start saw the Roadrunners fall behind 17-3, AC gradually climbed back into contention, with Frank Snow sending the game into extra frame with a pair of free throws with four seconds to play.

But the Rebels forced several key turnovers in those last five minutes to take the six-point win.

AC will close out the regular season Saturday at home against Lon Morris College as the second game of a scheduled doubleheader. The Lady Roadrunners tip off at 4 p.m., with the 'Runners starting at 6 p.m.

In addition, Saturday will feature Sophomore Day for several members of the women's and men's basketball teams and the AC Cheer Squad.

Live audio/video streaming of Saturday's games will be available by logging on to and clicking on the Athletics link.
