Roadrunner baseball drops game in Alvin

Angelina College's Roadrunner baseball team dropped a 4-0 decision in Alvin on Thursday in the opener of a three-game series set to resume on Saturday.

Bobby McCormack suffered his third consecutive hard-luck loss on the mound, having seen his team shut out in his two previous starts as well. Against the Dolphins on Thursday, McCormack went seven innings, scattering six hits while allowing two earned runs and striking out two.

Colten Walla went 2-for-4 and Travis Walker went 2-for-3 for the Roadrunners, now 9-12, 5-7 on the season.

Saturday's doubleheader, featuring seven- and nine-inning games, is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. at Roadrunner Field in Lufkin.
