A Skywest plane made an emergency landing at East Texas Regional Airport in Gregg County Monday night.

According to Gregg County Fire Marshal David Kidder, Skywest flight 5169 from Houston to Toronto had to make the emergency landing after crews on board noticed a smell of smoke in the cabin. There was apparently a small fire in a printer.

The plane landed at the airport at 10:02 pm and the airport fire department boarded the plane. Once on the plane fire crews only found smoke on board. The plane was checked with a thermal camera.

The 58 passengers were bused to Dallas for another flight today. The plane remains at East Texas Regional Airport near the terminal awaiting a maintenance crew to arrive.

Skywest is operated by United Express.
