TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Last Tuesday, Tyler Police responded to a residence on Aberdeen Drive to assist EMS on an injury to a child incident.
Police say a two-year-old girl had been severely burned on the bottom of her feet from hot water in the bath tub.
The girl was taken to ETMC, where she was referred to Parkland Hospital in Dallas to treat her burns.
Child Protective Services was contacted to initiate an investigation, and have taken custody of the little girl, says a CPS spokesperson.
Tyler Police Investigators are also looking into the facts and circumstances in this case to determine whether or not foul play is involved.
Authorities say the girl's adoptive parents were home at the time of the incident.
