EAST TEXAS (KTRE) -

Several roads that had been closed due to high water from Sunday's storms are being reopened to motorists. Water levels continue to recede, making many roads passable once again.

Even though the rain has moved out of East Texas, TxDOT crews continue to watch roadway conditions in areas that received significant rainfall.

In Nacogdoches County, FM 226 between State Highway 21 and Woden remains closed Sunday night.

Farm to Market Road 2497 in Angelina County is also expected to remain covered by water throughout the night. Officials said they expect high water at FM 324 and FM 1818 to recede during the next few hours.

Water remains over one lane of FM 1279 in San Augustine County, but is expected to be clear by Monday morning.

In Shelby County, high water is forcing the closure of FM 138.

Several roads in Trinity County are impassable. Water remains on FM 357, FM 1280, and FM 2262.

According to TxDOT, all roadways in Houston, Polk, Sabine, and San Jacinto counties are clear.
