Lufkin Police Chief Named Interim City Manager

The council met in closed session Tuesday night to determine who would take over the reigns of City Manager once C.G. Maclin officially vacates the position. And although it may appear that Chief Brazil already has his hands full running the police department, he says overseeing the city will be very similar to what he's already doing.

"We have a lot of different things we do in the police department. It's a microcosm of the city, and I think it's a pretty good example of what we'll need to face in this position," said Brazil.

Chief Brazil will assume the duties of interim city manager on April first, the day after outgoing City Manager C.G. Maclin leaves office.
