Autopsy shows Spurger man died from gunshot

TYLER COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A Spurger man found dead over the weekend died from a gunshot wound to the head, according to a preliminary autopsy report.

Tyler County Sheriff David Hennigan said his office has identified "persons of interest," who they are trying to find for questioning.

Mallie Dewayne Buckner III, 41, was found dead on County Road 4581 on Saturday.

Buckner had been missing for more than a week when a citizen called 911 to report a body found about 20 feet from the road.
