There is no doubt Tammara Marion is the Ladyjacks leader on the basketball court. She leads the team in minutes played, points per game, total steal, three-pointers and free throw percentage. But no stat or award is more important to Marion than a win.
"It always feels good to get awards but my biggest thing is I like the W's," said Marion. "If I get points or someone else is getting after it on my team it really doesn't matter I just like to win and go from there."
Marion had to change systems through her career when head coach Brandon Schneider arrived. The second year coach says she has adjusted well.
"She was a player who with the new coaching staff was very quick to buy in and believe in what we were doing," said Schneider. "I think that is something that has really paid off for her because those subtle changes have benefited her and let her have a terrific two years."
Marion admits she likes being a leader for the young Ladyjacks and helping develop the team.
"It's fun in my opinion when everybody looks up to you on and off the court," said Marion. "I've said this before I like to lead by example, as long as they look at me and I'm doing my things right then their heads are staying focused also."
Tammara Marion is the Jack of the week.
