TRINITY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A Trinity County constable has arrested a man for making moonshine out of his residence.

Constable Woody Wallace said his office has charged Joseph Burton, 20, of Trinity, with alcoholic beverage code violation, a Class A misdemeanor. He was arrested on Friday.

The charge came from over the weekend, when Wallace's deputies confiscated a moonshine distillery while investigating a burglary.

Wallace said they searched the residence and found a moonshine distillery in the garage.

Wallace explained he called TABC about the distillery and a lieutenant from Lufkin called him back and said producing moonshine is a Class A misdemeanor.

Wallace explained that moonshine is pure alcohol and can be dangerous to make.
