HOUSTON COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A Crockett man kept piling the criminal charges on himself Monday afternoon after driving drunk with a child and fighting with a trooper, according to a DPS report.

DPS spokesman David Hendry said Rafael Septian Whitting, 31, was involved in a one-vehicle accident on State Highway 19 in Houston County, around 12:45 p.m. The responding trooper determined Whitting was intoxicated and tried to arrest him. Whitting then resisted arrest and the trooper suffered a minor injury to his hand, as well as scratches, Hendry said.

The officer placed Whitting in the car and Whitting kicked the windshield and a camera in the car, Hendry said.

Whitting had a three-year-old child and marijuana in the car with him.

Whitting is charged with DWI with a child passenger, assault of a public servant, resisting arrest, criminal mischief and possession of marijuana.
