LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A DNA test shows a man is the biological father of a boy abducted in 2004, according to a Houston news report.
KTRK.com reports the test shows Fernando Morin is a 99.99 percent match to the boy. The mother, Auboni Champion-Morin, took the test on Wednesday, according to KTRK.
The San Augustine Sheriff's Office arrested Krystle Tanner, 26, earlier this month on a charge of kidnapping.
The next night, the suspect's sister contacted the Houston Police Homicide Division and said the missing child was in her possession and he was safe in Houston.
Tanner, the boy's godmother, is accused of kidnapping the child in 2004.
In a court hearing Wednesday in downtown Houston, a judge ruled the boy should undergo psychological counseling and the parents should undergo an evaluation before they can meet, according to KTRK.
Champion-Morin's DNA test result should be known before a hearing on March 28.
Court testimony showed Champion-Morin has had five other children, one of which has died. The other four live with an acquaintance, according to KTRK.
