Wyatt Named Honorable Mention All-American

A trio of Angelina College Lady Roadrunner basketball players parlayed big-season numbers into post-season honors, according to the All-Region and All-Conference lists released by Region XIV.
Carlisha Wyatt and Brittney Jefferson earned both 1st Team All-Region and 1st Team All-Conference honors; and freshman Diamond Webb made the All-Conference Honorable Mention list.
In addition, Wyatt, a Bryan High School alumna, earned Honorable Mention NJCAA All-American honors after posting spectacular sophomore-season numbers. Wyatt averaged 15 points and 7.74 rebounds per game throughout the 2011-2012 season. She blocked 14 shots and finished with 35 steals while spending more than 30 minutes per game on the floor.
Jefferson, the sophomore from Leggett, led the Lady ‘Runners with a 16 points-per-game average, good enough for fifth among conference leaders. Jefferson converted 75.6 percent of her free-throw attempts – fourth in Region XIV.
Webb, a freshman from Houston North Forest, scored at a 13.6 ppg clip, hitting a total of 69 three-pointers along the way. The 5'5" Webb also managed to average nearly five rebounds per game, and was among team leaders with 37 steals.
Trinity Valley's Sha'Kayla Caples was named the conference's Most Valuable Player. Byronesha Santiago of Lon Morris was the Freshman of the Year; and Michael and Kendra Landers of Trinity Valley were the Coaches of the Year.
