SAN AUGUSTINE, TX (KTRE) -

The mother of a woman accused of kidnapping a child in 2004 has been booked into the San Augustine County Jail.

Sheriff's Chief Deputy Gary Cunningham said Gloria Jean Walker, 50, of Manor, arrived at the jail around 7 p.m. Monday on a charge of kidnapping.

Cunningham said Walker declined give a statement. In arraignment, she said she did have an attorney.

Earlier this month, Krystle Tanner, 26, was arrested on kidnapping charges, stemming from a 2004 incident in Houston, where she allegedly took the then 8-month-old child while babysitting.

Latest developments in the case have shown that Walker provided false and misleading information as well.

Cunningham said Tanner does not have an attorney and will be granted one from the state.

The case will now go before a grand jury.

As for further arrests, Cunningham said deputies continue to investigate the case

"I can't rule out the possibility that others will be charged," Cunningham said.
