For the remainder of the season, the Angelina College Lady Roadrunner softball team will play its games at home. They made their final road trip a good one on Saturday.

AC's ladies took a pair of wins over the Alvin Dolphins, winning 5-1 and 2-0 in Alvin behind a couple of solid pitching performances from Taylor Thompson and Shelby Phillips, each of whom earned complete-game wins.

Thompson got the win in the opener after Laura Martinez went 2-for-3 with three singles, two runs scored and an RBI. Molly Mackey also went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Phillips tossed a two-hit shutout in the nightcap, striking out two Dolphins. Jordan Garza singled twice in three trips; and Raegan Sampson finished with a single and a double while driving in both AC runs.

The Lady 'Runners (18-10, 7-7) will host Blinn College on Wednesday in a doubleheader scheduled to start at noon. Live audio streaming will be available by logging on to and clicking on the Athletics link.
