WEB EXCLUSIVE: Man survives attack by bull, hit in head by horns

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A 27-year-old man says he's lucky to be alive after his head was struck by the two horns on a live bull.

Martin Garcia was visiting Charlotte over the weekend, from Florida, to take part in a bull riding competition at Midnite Rodeo on Albemarle Road.

A police report says Garcia fell off the bull around 9 p.m. Sunday night. He was run over, and hit in the head several times by the animal.

"I feel fine but I have a little bit of pain from the stitches that they put in," he said.

Garcia says following emergency surgery, he was given 19 stitches. WBTV reached out to the management at Midnite Rodeo, but calls were not returned. The building was closed Monday afternoon.

"I've had good luck and I'll continue riding, even after yesterdays accident," he said.

Garcia was released from the hospital and drove back to Florida with friends on Monday.
