RUSK COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -
The National Weather Service was in East Texas Thursday, surveying damage left behind from a quick-moving storm that passed through Wednesday afternoon.
The NWS confirms that an EF-0 tornado did touch down in Rusk County Wednesday.
The weak tornado touched down southwest of Henderson near U.S. Hwy 79 and CR 468.
"All of a sudden the wind starting really blowing the trees down and all we could hear was this loud crack," says Robyn Hanson
The twister touched down near Hanson's home.
Out on the road in front of her home were a couple of trees that Meteorologist Keith Stellman says were caused by an EF-0 tornado.
"When the wood breaks, in a fresh tree, you can see that the wood is still very light brown or light tan," says Stellman.
Stellman say winds reached the 60 mph mark, leaving behind downed trees and branches.
No injuries or structure damage have been reported as a result of the twister.
A second EF-0 is confirmed just six miles northwest of Mt. Enterprise.
The NWS says the storm uprooted trees and snapped branches where it touched down, south of FM 1798, along CR 3146
No injuries or structure damage were reported from this tornado.
