NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

A Galveston man caught trying to bring marijuana through Nacogdoches is on his way to prison after pleading guilty to the crime.

William Brent Golliday, 26, accepted a seven-year prison sentence on a charge of possession of marijuana.

Golliday and Eugene Santino Tillman, 30, were arrested in November when a Nacogdoches Police officer found 22.8 pounds of marijuana in the rear hatch of the SUV.

Golliday's prison deal may have been influenced by his long criminal history, which includes several felony convictions.
