LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Lufkin Police have arrested a man accused of molesting a 10-year-old girl on several occasions over a period of time.
Juan Homero Hernandez, 38, of Lufkin, is charged with a first-degree felony of aggravated sexual assault of a child, and two counts of a second-degree felony of indecency with a child.
According to an arrest warrant affidavit, the alleged victim met with her school principal and counselor and told them that she had been molested. The school contacted her mother, who made a report with Lufkin Police.
The victim was interviewed at Harold's House, a child's advocacy center, and told interviewers that she was staying at a house and had been touched several times by Hernandez. She said it began more than a year ago and ended several years ago.
Hernandez's charges are associated with different degrees of molestation described in the affidavit.
Police obtained a warrant for Hernandez's arrest on April 12. He was arrested the next day at a residence on the 900 block of Moore Avenue.
