ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

An Angelina County constable arrested a Corrigan woman Tuesday night after he said he caught her driving drunk with her daughter in the car.

Constable Tom Selman said he was patrolling the new weigh station on US 59 South when he spotted a driver in a 2001 Ford Escort commit a minor traffic offense. Selman pulled over the vehicle and said he noticed a strong odor of alcohol on the breath of Kay Kuehn Grohman, 42.

He said Grohman showed other signs of intoxication and got her to give a breathalyzer test, of which she blew a .11, above the legal limit of .08.

Grohman was traveling from Corrigan to Burke with her nine-year-old daughter, who was released to other family members.

Grohman was booked into the Angelina County Jail on a charge of DWI with a child passenger, a state-jail felony.
