Police: Lufkin man sexually assaults mentally disabled man

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

A Lufkin man is in jail accused of sexually assaulting a mentally disabled man.

Lufkin Police said on or around April 4, the victim was at his residence and the suspect, identified as Billie Joe Harrell, 51, of Lufkin was at the victim's apartment as well.

According to the arrest affidavit the victim, 56, a mentally disabled man, told police that Harrell began making sexual advances toward him, and the victim told him to stop.

Harrell then, allegedly pulled the victim's pants down forcefully. The victim said Harrell overpowered him and began performing sexual acts on him.

The report also stated the victim repeatedly told the suspect to stop, but he would not.

Harrell was arrested Wednesday and charged with sexual assault.

He was booked into the Angelina County Jail.
