ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

Angelina County Sheriff's deputies arrest a sex offender after he moved to the Lufkin area and failed to notify authorities.

Authorities said Corey Lynn Wilcox, moved from his Nederland, Texas address in Jefferson County to a Lufkin address and failed to notify law enforcement in either county.

In January 2009, Wilcox was convicted of indecency with a child by exposure.

Investigators said the case involved a 6-year-old Angelina County boy.

Since his conviction, Wilcox is required to register with law enforcement where he lives.

On March 30, Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies went to 3404 North Twin City Highway #C, in Nederland to perform a compliance check. Deputies discovered Wilcox no longer lived at that address.

According to the arrest warrant, Wilcox last registered with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office in October 2011.

Investigators discovered Wilcox had moved to a Lufkin residence on the 1000 block of Twin Oaks.

Wilcox was arrested Wednesday and charged with failure to comply with sex offender registration.

He was booked into the Angelina County Jail on a $15,000 bond.

More than a few tar-covered tires are hanging on to the parking lot of a Lufkin tire shop.  On August 31, newly laid asphalt on Loop 287 started sticking to tires of those driving, leaving many of the cars un-driveable. As of Friday, the Texas Department of Transportation hadn't come out with an official cause for the incident, but that hasn't stopped over 600 people from filing claims with them.
