NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - A raid at a Northview Condominiums residence at North Street and Burrows Street led to the confiscation of cocaine, marijuana and cash. Some of the money may be traced back to currency used by undercover agents to make drug purchases.
Constable Jason Bridges said an "influx of powder cocaine" in his jurisdiction of Precinct 4 led to the undercover operation. "We did surveillance work at the complex and then made undercover purchases," said Bridges.
Around 8 a.m. Friday a search warrant, with the assistance of Nacogdoches Police Department, was executed. No one was home, but about 4 ounces of suspected powder cocaine with a street value of more than $5,600, three to four ounces of what's believed to be hydro marijuana and about $700 in cash were discovered.
A warrant has been issued for Xavier Smith on possession of a controlled substance and several delivery charges.
"He's got a record and has done federal time on drug related charges. He hasn't been out for long," said Bridges.
Bridges says the investigation may lead to the original source.
