Walnut, CA. (KTRE) – Two former Lufkin standout track athletes were among the first place winners this weekend at the historic 54th Annual Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, California.
It was the first time this team of hurdlers ran the event this season. Their mark of 54.49 blew away the previous Mt. Sac Relays shuttle hurdle record of 1:00.60. The shuttle hurdles team time also set a new UH school record for that event.
In a separate competition, Jones picked up a second place win in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 13.38.
Overall, the UH track and field teams ran away with 4 - 1st place relay team wins (women's 4x100m shuttle hurdles, women's 4x400m relay, 4x100m men's, and the men's 4x800m).
