LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

A Lufkin woman is arrested accused of providing alcohol to minors at a party.

Lufkin Police responded to a disturbance early Sunday morning around 3:30 a.m. in the 600 block of Joyce Lane.

Officers investigating said they received a complaint about loud music and fighting in the backyard of a residence.

According to J. B. Smith, with Lufkin PD, the officers responding to the disturbance stated several people were fighting in the driveway, and once the crowd realized police were on scene, they scattered.

Smith stated the officers knocked on the door of the residence but no one would answer, eventually, several people came outside and spoke with them.

Police discovered Maci Wojcik, 20, of Lufkin was hosting the party. Wojcik was arrested  for allegedly making alcohol available to minors.

Smith stated officers found empty and full alcoholic beverage containers inside and outside the home.

According to the police report, officers issued several citations for minors in possession of alcohol.

Officers said Wojcik had also been consuming alcohol at the party and she was under the age of 21.

Wojcik was charged with purchase/furnish alcohol to minors; she was booked into the Angelina County Jail and released Sunday on a $1,500 bond.
