Nacogdoches trooper reports catching 2 with weed in luggage

NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A Nacogdoches County trooper arrested two men traveling on US 59 Thursday night after he reported finding more than nine pounds of marijuana in their luggage.

According to the DPS report, the trooper stopped a GMC Yukon for speeding at 9:56 p.m. The trooper reported smelling marijuana and used probable cause to search the vehicle. He said he found 9.8 pounds of the drug in their luggage.

The trooper arrested Kwabena Owusu Cheremateng, 22, of Pasadena, and Kwame Cheremateng, 26, of Spring, on charges of possession of marijuana, a third-degree felony.
