UH 100 meter shuttle hurdles team posts second place finish at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, PA, (KTRE) – For the second consecutive week, the University of Houston 100 meter shuttle hurdles relay team has posted a top five finish.

The 4x100 meter shuttle hurdles team comprised of Sade-Mariah Greenidge, Amber Sellers of Lufkin, Alicia Perkins, DeMeeka Jones of Lufkin finished second with a time of 54.78, just a tenth of a second behind LSU who won first in the Championships of America division.

This is the 117th year for the Penn Relays, which is the oldest and largest track and field competition in the U.S.  The annual games are held at Franklin Field, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Last week the shuttle relay team won the gold at the Mt SAC Relays with a record-setting meet time of 54.49.

UH track athletes return to Houston this week to prepare for the Conference USA Outdoor Championships scheduled to begin May 11 in New Orleans, La.
