LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

A San Augustine woman pleaded guilty to her role in two drunken driving accidents with two children, accepting a probation sentence.

In exchange for the plea, prosecutors dropped a charge of endangering a child. Lasha Lavatte Jones, 25, pleaded guilty to DWI with a child passenger, accepting a five-year probation sentence.

Jones was arrested in Aug. 2010 after two car accidents within minutes of each other.

The first came around 1:20 a.m. on Aug. 8, 2010. Jones allegedly hit Lashanda Johnson of Missouri City. According to DPS, Johnson's vehicle suffered minor damage. She was able to drive away from the scene.

Authorities say minutes later around 1:25 a.m., Jones slammed into another vehicle. Only this time, she was forced to stop.

Jones had her eight-year-old brother, another child and her pregnant friend in the car with her. Troopers determined she was drunk.
