Nacogdoches native nominated for Broadway's highest honor

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

An East Texan is quickly rising to the top of Broadway's most-acclaimed actors.

Nacogdoches native Ron Raines is nominated for a Tony Award as "best performance by an actor in a leading role."

The musical "Follies" has earned a total of eight nominations.

Raines is a graduate of Nacogdoches High School and went on to study at Julliard.

He returned home in 2010 to perform with Orchestra in the Pines.
