Lufkin woman accused of abusing 3-year-old girl

ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

The Angelina County Sheriff's Office has arrested a Lufkin woman accused of injuring a three-year-old child.

According to the arrest warrant affidavit, a deputy responded to a report of criminal mischief on Sapphire Road on April 29. When he arrived, he spoke to a man who said the mother of his children had come by the house to visit the children and got into an argument with him.

The man said the argument resulted in the woman, Kimberly Jeanette Gilcrease, 27, injuring him and their three-year-old daughter.

The deputy reported the girl had suffered a knot on her forehead, a laceration on the forehead, a laceration on the bridge of her nose and a scratch to the left side of her face.

The girl told the deputy that Gilcrease had thrown her to the floor in side the house.

The man said Gilcrease wanted money right then to buy a trailer. He also reported she smelled like alcohol.

He said during the argument, Gilcrease grabbed the girl and ran into the house and locked the door. the man said he got his house key out of his vehicle and entered the house to find Gilcrease had cut wires to the TV and DVR in several bedrooms. He said she also turned a flat-screen TV onto the floor.

The report states Gilcrease then left the scene.

Deputies arrested Gilcrease on Wednesday on a charge of injury to a child. She was released Thursday on a $3,500 bond.
