LOVELADY, TX (KTRE) -

Deputies with the Houston County Sheriff's Office have arrested a man accused of throwing an American flag onto a Lovelady street to be destroyed by traffic.

Deputies arrested Terence Dwayne Johnson, 20, of Bedias, on Thursday on a Class A misdemeanor charge of destruction of the US flag.

According to an arrest affidavit, surveillance video from Broxson Hardware, located at 120 South Commerce St., shows Johnson pull an American flag from its mount and throw it onto State Highway 19 and into oncoming traffic.

The affidavit states the flag was never recovered.

According to a spokesperson with the sheriff's office, more charges may be coming for Johnson.
