Trinity County Sheriff race overview

TRINITY CO., TX (KTRE) – The incumbent wants to build on the trust he says he has built during his tenure.  The challenger wants to restructure the department to maximize resources.  Both want the job of Trinity County Sheriff.  It will be up to voters to decide.

Elected to the position in 2010, Ralph Montemayor Sr. says he will continue to be tough on drug dealers, increase staff development, and maintain an open door communication policy.

Don Fisher hopes to bring his experience working in both rural and metropolitan environments to improve the Trinity County Sheriff's department.  He plans to focus on restructuring staff and increasing patrols.

The winner of the Democratic Primary will face Republican Woody Wallace in November.  Wallace is running unopposed in the Primary.

Early voting in the May 29 Primary begins May 14 and runs through May 25.  The Primary Election is May 29.  The General Election is November 6.
