Lufkin man accused of sexually assaulting woman at knifepoint

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Lufkin Police have arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman at knifepoint on Sunday.

Richard Lira, 21, of Lufkin, is charged with aggravated sexual assault with a deadly weapon.

According to an on-view arrest affidavit, Lira forced a woman to perform oral sex on him while he held a knife.

After that, the affidavit states he hit her in the face several times and did not stop until she started bleeding.

The woman was able to get away and call police.

Further details on the allegations, including the location of the alleged assault, are being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.

Police arrested Lira on the charge on Sunday. He is being held in the Angelina County Jail on a $15,000 bond.
