LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Lufkin Police arrested two people Monday who were caught reportedly selling drugs. Officers witnessed both incidents.

The first incident occurred at midnight Monday, when officers reported witnessing Gregory Lorenzo Payne, 27, of Lufkin, sell 1.7 ounces of marijuana on the 300 block of Lazy Oaks Street.

The report states Payne ran away from officers, but they managed to catch up to him and arrest him on charges of delivery of marijuana in a drug-free zone and evading arrest.

The second incident also occurred around midnight on Monday, when officers reported witnessing Melvina Renee Tatum, 30, of Lufkin, sell half of a gram of cocaine on the 300 block of Homer Boulevard.

Police arrested Tatum on a charge of delivery of a controlled substance.
