Houston Co. traffic stop yields big drug seizure

HOUSTON COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

Houston County law enforcement officers arrested three men after finding massive amounts of drugs during a traffic stop Tuesday night.

According to the report, deputy Larenzo Simpson made the stop on State Highway 19, south of Crockett and got assistance from Crockett Police Officer Lonnie Lum.

While speaking to the driver, officers reported a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. They searched the vehicle and reported finding 35 pounds of marijuana, 100 pills believed to be Ecstasy and about 136 grams of cocaine.

The officers arrested Fredrick Monroe, 26, of Mount Vernon; Destric Boyd, 35, of Daingerfield; and Raymond Carroll Wallace, 36, of Daingerfield.

All three are charged with delivery of marijuana and two counts of delivery of a controlled substance.
