NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

A Nacogdoches man apparently looked a little too suspicious Wednesday night and ended up going to jail after a deputy reported finding six grams of cocaine in his pickup truck.

Sheriff Thomas Kerss said the deputy was patrolling when he saw a man, later identified as Jose A. Hernandez, 31, duck down in his pickup in the parking lot of Texas Bar & Grill.

The deputy, suspecting Hernandez could be burglarizing the vehicle, pulled into the parking lot and asked Hernandez to get out of the vehicle.

Kerss said as Hernandez tried to get out, he tried to hide something between the cab and bed of the pickup. The deputy saw it and discovered it was a baggie of cocaine wrapped by a dollar bill.

The deputy placed Hernandez under arrest and searched the vehicle, finding more baggies of cocaine, with a total weight of six grams.

Hernandez was arrested on a first-degree felony charge of possession of a controlled substance. He posted a $15,000 bond.
