Deputies with the Angelina County Sheriff's Office have arrested the owner of a tobacco shop accused of selling synthetic marijuana to customers.

Capt. Allen Hill said authorities with the sheriff's office and TABC have been monitoring activity at JR Food Mart, formerly "Smokey T's," located at 1114 E. Denman Ave., for a while and have made undercover buys of synthetic marijuana, also known as K2.

Hill explained that only possessing K2 is equal to a misdemeanor marijuana charge, but selling it will bring felony charges for the owner, Younus Moton, 53, of Houston.

Hill said there are several cases of the drug in the store and possession charges will be pending for Moton. He will be charged with delivery of a controlled substance, a second-degree felony.
