Jury reaches verdict in suit over Kilgore firefighters wrongful deaths

Cory Galloway. Cory Galloway.
Kyle Perkins. Kyle Perkins.

Jurors have found the defendants guilty in a wrongful death lawsuit of two Kilgore Firefighters.

In January of 2009, Kyle Perkins and Cory Galloway fell to their deaths during a training exercise on the Kilgore College campus.

The families accused E-ONE, the company that made the ladder truck, and the Kilgore Fire Department of negligence in Perkins and Galloway's deaths, saying they had not been properly trained on the truck.

The jury awarded damages of nearly $800,000, which will be split between E-ONE and the Kilgore Fire Department.
