LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -
Traffic is moving slow on US 59 South in Lufkin following a three-vehicle wreck Tuesday afternoon.
Lufkin Police Officer Brad Lawrence said a copper 18-wheeler, driven by Johnny Watkins, 59, rear-ended a pickup truck, which rear-ended a white 18-wheeler, which was stopped at the traffic light on the northbound side of US 59 South, at the intersection of College Drive, around 2:40 p.m.
The driver of the pickup was taken to a Lufkin hospital as a precaution.
Both northbound lanes were blocked at first, but crews managed to divert traffic to one lane shortly after.
Lawrence said Watkins was cited for failure to control speed.
