Fire crews working house fire near Chapel Hill

SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

Several fire crews have extinguished a house fire near Chapel Hill.

The fire was reported just after 9:30 am, in the 13,000 block of County Road 2241 off of Old Omen Road.

According to neighbors, the house had been vacant for several months and was not occupied at the time of the fire. Garbage men driving by saw the flames and called emergency officials.

Chapel Hill, Jackson Heights, Whitehouse and Arp Fire Departments are on the scene.
