High School Student Charged With Murder

Lufkin police have arrested an 18-year-old high school student and charged him with murder in the deaths of his two unborn sons.

Lufkin police claim Gerardo Flores beat his girlfriend, who happened to be five months pregnant, during an argument yesterday morning. The 16-year-old girl reportedly delivered the stillborn fetuses at home. She was later taken to Memorial Hospital where doctors noticed bruising on her face, arms, and abdomen, but she denied anyone had beaten her. After Flores was arrested, he admitted that he had hit his girlfriend earlier in the day during a fight.

Flores remains in the Angelina County jail on murder charges. His bond is set at 250-thousand dollars. The bodies of the fetuses were sent to the Jefferson County morgue for autopsy.
