LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A Lufkin pair is arrested after police found marijuana in a gym bag and guns in the dirty laundry inside their home.
According to the Lufkin Police report, around 11 a.m. on Sunday, May 20, officers responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 1800 block of Wood Avenue in Lufkin.
Officers said they discovered approximately two pounds of marijuana and two handguns inside the home.
The report indicated the residence was that of Marcel Connell Montgomery, 35, and Porsche Davis, 25, both of Lufkin.
The marijuana, a .25 caliber handgun, and a box of .380 caliber ammunition were found inside a gym bag, according to police.
A further search led police to a dirty clothes basket where they located a .380 caliber handgun.
Both Davis and Montgomery have prior felony convictions, making them ineligible to possess a firearm.
They were both arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, a third degree felony, and possession of marijuana, a state jail felony.
Both were booked into the Angelina County Jail, as of 10:30 a.m. Monday, their bond has not yet been set.
