LIVINGSTON, TX (KTRE) - Authorities from several agencies teamed up on a 55-mile pursuit which ended with shots fired at the vehicle in Livingston.
DPS spokesman David Hendry said the chase began in Humble, when a man stole a vehicle. The chase reached speeds of 100 miles per hour on US 59 before a trooper managed to spike his tires in Polk County.
The chase finally ended after Liberty County Sheriff's Office deputies stopped the vehicle by shooting at it on the intersection of US 190.
TxDOT reduced northbound US 59 traffic to one lane at that intersection. It remained closed until about 10:30 p.m.
Hendry said the man was taken to a Livingston hospital as a precaution, but was not hit by any bullets.
