NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

A Missouri man who drove through Nacogdoches County with 1.5 pounds of marijuana accepted a probation deal Tuesday in a Nacogdoches courtroom.

Lachaun Harrold, of Furguson, Mo., agreed to the four-year probation sentence in District Judge Ed Klein's courtroom.

According to a previous report, Trooper John Williamson reported pulling over Harrold and a woman, who were traveling northbound on U.S. 59, in June 2011, because of a defective license plate light on a 2001 Ford Mustang.

According to the report, Williamson spoke with the suspects and smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. He reported their behavior was consistent with those who participate in drug trafficking and received consent to search the vehicle.

Williamson found 1.55 pounds of marijuana in the trunk. The report indicates the drug carries a street value of $1,000.
