Lufkin Starbucks re-opened Wednesday afternoon after maintenance

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

The Starbucks location in Lufkin was apparently one of many around the nation closed for maintenance on Wednesday.

News reports from many American cities report Starbucks was closed Wednesday, with no indication of when it will be open again.

The sign on the Lufkin location stated, "Due to maintenance, our store will be delayed in opening. We apologize for the inconvenience. We hope to see you later for coffee."

It was re-opened around 1 p.m.

In a telephone interview, a spokeswoman with Starbucks said the maintenance affected a small percentage of the company's stores. She said it had to do with the in-store water filtration system, and the plan was to have the work completed overnight. However, it took longer than planned and the stores cannot be opened until the maintenance is complete.

"We're hoping to have them open soon, if they're not already," she said.

The Nacogdoches location was running at normal business hours Wednesday.
