Lufkin's Chris Durham hoping to continue his track career at Southern Arkansas

LUFKIN, TEXAS (KTRE) – Lufkin High School senior Chris Durham made it to the winners circle at the UIL 5-A Track and Field State Championships in Austin.  It is a goal he has been trying to achieve for much of his high school career.

He posted a 47.41 finish in the 400 meters dash to take third place and the bronze medal.  He says hard work and perseverance is what it took to to get his time below 48 seconds in the 400 dash.

The 5-A State Championship finals were held at UT's Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 12.

Durham hopes to continue his track career with Southern Arkansas.
