Posted: Updated:
LINDALE, TX (KLTV) -

Sunday, fire crews were called out to fight two grass fires near Lindale.

The first fire was in the 20-thousand block of FM 16 West, which is between Lindale and Van. Officials say this fire burned between two and three acres of a heavily wooded area. One structure was close to the fire, but was not damaged. Van, and Mineola fire crews assisted in fighting this fire.

The second fire was in the 8-thousand block of FM 2710. This is northeast of Lindale, and burned both woods and pasture. Red Springs, Dixie and Mineola fire crews are also on this fire. This fire burned around 10 acres. This same fire re-kindled later Sunday evening but Red Springs fire crews quickly contained the fire.

Both fires were contained and the cause is still under investigation.

No injuries have been reported.
