SAN AUGUSTINE, TX (KTRE) -

Two women are in the San Augustine County Jail after police say they wrecked in San Augustine while looking for drugs while traveling with a child.

According to the report, a San Augustine Police officer responded to the intersection of Martin Luther King North and West, where a Hyundai was in a ditch, driven in backwards, with damage to the front bumper. Two women, Latisha Mae Thebeau, 28, of Broaddus, and Vicki Sue Thebeau, 45, and a nine-year-old girl were out of the car. The women told the officer they were looking for someone, according to the report.

The officer concluded the women were high on prescription medication and were looking for more to buy when they wrecked.

The officer arrested Vicki Thebeau on a charge of driving while intoxicated with a child passenger after she admitted to driving the vehicle. He also arrested Latisha Thebeau on a charge of endangering a child after he determined she put her daughter in danger by allowing her to ride as a passenger in a car with an obviously intoxicated driver.
