Run-off in the Smith County Sheriff's race

SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

The unofficial numbers are in; the citizens of Smith County are torn between Larry R. Smith and Chris V. Green for sheriff.

Larry R. Smith won the popular vote among the four candidates with 12,143 votes, a total of 44.09%.

Chris V. Green came in with 37.59% of the vote, totaling 10,353.

Smith County Chief Deputy Bobby Garmon takes third, with 16.99% of the vote, or 4,678 total votes.

And Donn Rust trailed with 1.33% of the vote.

The run-off will be held July 31.
