POLLOK, TX (KTRE) -
An accident involving a prisoner transport van on US 69 North in Angelina County sent three inmates to the hospital Thursday afternoon.
Trooper Rodney Tucker said Shane Gammons, of Lufkin, was driving a 1996 GMC pickup on FM 2021 and attempted to cross US 69 North when he was hit by an Orange County transport van headed south at 4:20 p.m.
All three inmates were taken to a Lufkin hospital with minor injuries, per transport procedure.
Traffic was diverted on the shoulders of both sides until about 5:30 p.m.
Both drivers were not injured.
